It’s not just black, it’s black all over, which is also the most striking feature on Saint Laurent’s new Monogram Saint Laurent Baby Cabas, a darling of a bag that measures 25 cm by 19 cm. Yes, it’s small, but that’s also why it’s adorable, your standard rectangular tote topped with 2 short top handles. Besides that, it also comes with an adjustable shoulder sling that’s also removable, which means you can wear it one of at least 3 different ways and that’s always a good thing, no?
Priced at SGD2890 for the one in this size, this bag also comes in Fog (a dusky grey),Red and Royal Blue, all of which are available at Saint Laurent boutiques at ION Orchard or Marina Bay Sands. For those who prefer something more substantial, this bag also comes in a Small. Priced from SGD3090 and up, you’ll find it Black or Fog and finished with gold-tone hardware that’s pretty charming as well too.
For a group of women with whom designers are often extremely generous, supermodels tend to be pretty loyal when it comes to their bags. For example: Miranda Kerr can't put down her Mansur Gavriel Bucket Bag, Gigi Hadid is obsessed with her Versace Palazzo Empire Bag and Chrissy Teigen loves her Givenchy Antigona. Chrissy isn't the only model having an extended affair with an Antigona, though; Victoria's Secret Angel and catwalk veteran Lily Aldridge has also carried her glossy black Givenchy Antigona again and again over the years.
Most people have a particular neutral they tend to stick with, and based on paparazzi photos, Lily's is definitely black. She also wears a lot of Givenchy in general (which is perfect for a black-clothing devotee), and her Antigona fits that aesthetic perfectly. She first popped up with one of the bags in 2013, as far as we can tell from our photo archive, and its been making repeat appearances on her arm every since.
Below, we've amassed all the different ways Lily has styled her Antigona, and we think you'll see her style is pretty consistent. You can pick up a bag just like Lily's for $2,280 via Neiman Marcus.

“The best” is a very particular phrase. People use it in place of “my favorite” all the time, perhaps because we always want to believe that the things we prefer are also objectively valuable and worth appreciating, but its literal meaning is a little more narrow than that. When you’re being as objective as possible about evaluating a group of things, the one that’s the best may not necessarily be the one you personally enjoy the most. Taste is a funny thing that way. With that in mind, let’s talk about the best bags.
When I think of all the high-end designers known for handbags, Chloé‘s current output is the one that stands out to me the most right now. In her time at Chloé, designer Clare Waight Keller has refined the brand’s aesthetic world into something very specific and recognizable while regularly debuting new bags that don’t crib from popular designs from other brands and that feel designed to be carried in everyday life, instead of simply admired. The brand has also resisted the stratospheric pricing leaps of some of its competitors, which means that you can still get an awesome Chloé day bag for under two grand. As silly as that statement seems at first blush, it’s not the case at plenty of comparable brands.
My only regret about Chloé is that the brand doesn’t exactly align with my personal taste–the brand skews toward shoppers who like tan bags and gold hardware, while I prefer black and silver, respectively. That’s okay, though; the brand’s aesthetic is perfect for tons of women looking for sophisticated, casual luxury bags, and Chloé’s current lineup is broad enough that it does include some pieces that would fit in my wardrobe perfectly, even though someone like me isn’t the company’s target. That the brand’s collection is finely tuned enough to still feel like Chloé but broad enough to reach lots of shoppers is, in my mind, another point of the many in the brand’s favor.
If you’re similarly fond of Chloé’s current designs, you can shop the brands bags via Neiman Marcus,Nordstrom and Saks.
The Anine Bing August 2016 campaign features several eye-catching bags modeled by Poland’s Daga Ziober and shot by Meredith Bruner. The styling by Cher Coulter ranges from comfortably chic to dressy casual with perfectly coiffed hair and makeup for Daga’s look done by Sara Denman that matches the wearability of the bags. Available atAnineBing.com, the leather bags come in a variety of shapes and sizes with eye-catching details to dress up or down each of the outfits shown and any that you have in your closet as well.
The fashions worn to accent the bags included a gold fringe skirt and soft sweater with gold accessories to complement the Kensington patchwork burgundy and green shoulder bag, while leather pants were the feature for the Mayfair and Brixton bags. A romantic off-the-shoulder floating dress worked well with the quilted black leather bag with the gold chain and the red contrast inner lining, making that my favorite of the bags in the Anine Bing pre-fall 2016 collection.
Here are a few more details on the others.
Anine Bing Kensington Shoulder Bag
The Anine Bing Kensington shoulder bag is perfect on nearly any canvas as the patchwork gold, deep burgundy purple and hunter green with green and gold stitching create beautiful lines. The bag is 100% leather and measures 12 inches long, 8.3 inches in height and 4.3 inches open.
The strap is a gold chain link with a full length of 21.5 inches, which gives the Kensington Shoulder Bag a hanging length of 12.5 inches. It is great for wear on special occasions or as an ultra chic everyday bag. Demurely stamped on the bottom front beneath the closure is Anine Bing in gold block letters.
Anine Bing Mayfair Handbag
The Anine Bing Mayfair handbag is a different type of bag, but an equally beautiful one. The shoulder strap is removable, and the black 100% leather bag measures in at 9 inches in height and 13.5 inches across. The open width of the bag is 7 inches and includes an inside pocket as well.
The flap closure is easy to work with and the back has a gold zippered pocket. As with the others, the bottom front features Anine Bing in perfectly embossed gold block letters. This also comes with a removable shoulder strap allowing the bag to be carried on the shoulder or in the crook of the arm.
Anine Bing Brixton Shoulder Bag with Chain
The Anine Bing Brixton shoulder bag is round, with richly colored 100% leather in either green or burgundy and has a diameter of 7.5 inches. The golden link shoulder strap length measures 20 inches.
Though a round bag looks good it can sometimes be difficult to place your things in there in an organized manner. To assist with this the Brixton does have an inside pocket. The edge of the Brixton is a shiny gold that perfectly matches the shoulder strap. The trademark gold block letters spelling out Anine Bing are found right on the bottom of the front.
Massimo Dutti just surprised us with an exclusive limited edition collection that is all about knitwear motifs and lingerie-style pieces. The minimalistic and Seventies-inspired accents used in the Massimo Dutti fall 2016 limited edition collection make everything even more covetable and eclectic.
Massimo Dutti’s fall 2016 limited edition collection combines the brand’s main line’s fall motifs, such as the aforementioned Seventies inspirations, with clean-cut, uber-minimalistic and at times even conceptual motifs, the inevitable urban-chic attitude of which will in return add an extra fancy factor to any wardrobe. Although the main line is almost solely boho-chic-inspired, this special edition line-up blends in Seventies fashions with more contemporary interpretations of the heroin-chic trends everyone seems to be obsessed with nowadays.
As for the color palette, both the main and the special edition lines appear to favor darker colors, except for the dream array of off-white, creamy essentials that gently light up the entire collection. For this autumnal season, Massimo Dutti chose to mainly embrace the sophisticated brown, gray and black shades, creating neutral pieces that could look absolutely perfect either with a similar color palette, or with contrasting, if not even shocking, bright bold hues.
As for the wardrobe essentials, on the other hand, Massimo Dutti’s exclusive collection is particularly strong on three main staples: palazzo pants, sweaters and accessories. Billowy and cozy, Massimo Dutti’s palazzo pants will give you something extremely warm to wear on a daily basis, especially if you live in a cold and rainy city (most of the pieces are made of refined wool). Although the collection features pencil, culottes and cropped pants too, it’s specifically the palazzo pants that are actually the most covetable essentials in the line-up, meant to easily go from day to night.
When it comes to the sweaters and blouses, it is here that the collection mostly sticks to the Nineties, treating us to minimalist round-necked shirts, oversized sweaters and crêpe tops with V-necklines, which also introduce us to the more lingerie-inspired and loungewear-style garments. Elegant loungewear jackets, slip vests with laced hems and mid-calf, bright white gowns embody the most heroin-chic side of the Nineties, creating an appealing and inspirational contrast with the line-up’s more grunge-inspired must-haves.
To top it all off, Massimo Dutti focused on A-list accessories and jewelry pieces that we already can’t wait to get our hands on. If abstract necklaces and deconstructed rings serve as great options when it comes to choosing an unconventional, yet extremely elegant jewel, the sandals and sensual stiletto ankle-boots seem to be willing to treat us to haute couture-esque proposals yet at a more affordable price (which is always good news).
